Back to Pasco, WA Again

Time to go back down again. This time I brought my Idaho son. The cat noticed us packing the truck and was wondering if she was going. The minute Dave put the cage on the floor, she ran right in. She was actually pretty well behaved during the driving this time. She only howled for half the trip. Once we let her out in the trailer, she recognized it and was quite happy to rub herself all over the carpeting and linoleum. I finished crocheting the new bathroom carpet and brought it down here. This one she is leaving alone. YAY!

We got here just in time for Wednesday night dinner of lasagna. The minute I walked in the clubhouse door they recognized me. That’s always nice. The food was good as usual too.

My sons are making good use of the hot tub. 😛

David and I had a snoring contest. Not sure who won. David has decided my 26 foot trailer is too small for two people with a mother-son relationship who are not from Arkansas. He thinks it would be fine for 1 person or two significant others. I believe the term “spooning” came up. Ah well. We did look like the most geekish pair with me on my laptop working at the table and him on his laptop on the table by the couch.

The new SSL VPN service I had to add for wireless Internet security worked out great. Not only does it encrypt my connection over wireless, it makes me anonymous when I surf the net. Jiwire and Witopia are two such companies. Jiwire also provides a downloadable list of hotspots. You can Google for other services.

David got my TV sound going through the trailer stereo system with a wireless FM transmitter. Very cool.

When your shower is located right behind your pantry, it is a good idea to cook real food once in a while. Why? So that you might notice the water in your pantry from the leaking hot water pipe that runs through the pantry! Don’t worry. Was just a twist on coupling. Pliers fixed it.

When the trailer is rocking, don’t come knocking! Mine was rocking this week… Yes, gave the cat some catnip before I went to bed. First she went sliding on the kitchen floor with the stolen bathroom carpet. Then she hauled her new popup condo into the kitchen to run back and forth through it. When I got up, toys were strewn everywhere. It felt like I was sleeping on a boat!

If you notice that an unusual number of fellow campers at a campground have water filters installed on their water lines, there is likely a very good reason for it. Sniff the water before drinking then run right over to Walmart.

That silly outside shower is wonderful for cleaning the pad underneath the rig when you hookup or unhook the sewer hose. I think you know why. 😉

If you know anything at all about computers, any amount of geek talk will bring folks running to you for help, even in a campground. I actually made some extra money last week. LOL

The Internet here was down the other night so I could not get on to work. Naturally, I wanted to be sure it was the service and not me. I walked around till I saw a pair outside an expensive 5th wheel in the full-timers section. Turned out to be a great ice breaker and got me a tour of their RV. Even in bad there is good. 😉

Visiting My Baby

I’m back in Pasco, WA for a month. Did I mention I get sick in Idaho? I can only stand being there for 1-2 months at a time. Part of it is allergies since they have sooooo many trees there.

I am now an RVer with a cat. My cat has not been happy since I left. OK, it’s my fault. I spoiled her rotten! She will now be traveling with me. That should be interesting… Her name is Andrea. Also known as Stupid at times. Now I wish I had bought a motorhome. That would be a lot easier with pets and traveling. Oh well. I’ll work it out.

Already feeling a lot better since leaving.

Arrived in 106 degree heat with cat in cage. Thank God for air conditioning in cars. She still whined the whole time.

Have lots of insights.

106 degrees outside = 83 degrees inside and livable once air conditioner gets going.

If your trailer has been in storage for 2 months, your battery may be dead and electric jack won’t work.

When cranking manually, go in the direction of most resistance. For some reason, the other direction does not work no matter how long you crank. Don’t forget to put the manual crank cap back on or you will lose it when you drive off. If lucky, you will find it if you take time to go back and look.

Life Delayed

I swear ol’ Murphy has a tracking device on me. While at Sandy Heights RV Resort in Pasco, WA, I got a call from my son in Idaho. I was needed at home right away and it would be awhile before I could get back. I had to put the trailer in storage there at Sandy Heights (just $25 per month) and drive home. I won’t be able to full-time for awhile but at least with it right there at the resort, I can visit. 🙁

I’ll post again when I get back.
